Boston saxophone legend, composer and all around great dude, Bob Gay, visited the studio this week.

A long time collaborator and friend of Bob Moses, Gay has been featured on five star recordings such as Time Stood Still, and toured the world with Rakalam's jazz/dance fusion group Mozamba.

Native Pulse hopes to work much more with Bob in the near future (Hint Hint... ;)).

Robert Douglas Gay's professional career began at Soundtrack Boston, a music studio specializing in jingles. It was through them that he made his way into the New York scene recording with such greats as bassist Will Lee from Letterman’s band, drummer Steve Ferrone from Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers and Steely Dan guitarist Elliott Randall.

Producer extraordinaire, the late Arif Mardin, utilized his talents on sessions with Chaka Khan, David Bowie, Howard Jones, Culture Club and the Bee Gees. It was during this period that he was signed to Epic Records with Boston-based pop/rock group New Man. He was featured on the number one hit “I’ll Be Your Everything” written by singer Tommy Page and boy-band sensations Jordan Knight and Danny Wood of New Kids On The Block.

Composer/arranger/ keyboardist/engineer phenomenon Ed Grenga has kept him busy with his company Handsome Brothers Music, featuring his sax work on everything from the hilarious Red Peters project to film scores, television shows and corporate extravaganzas, both live and recorded.

Bob Gay is also a seasoned performer, having appeared live on stage with rock legend Steven Tyler, Boston’s Brad Delp and J. Geils Band front man Peter Wolf. In addition, He has played some of the largest venues in the world including Giant Stadium and the Arsenio Hall Show when viewer-ship reached above the ten million mark…
